Artisan Cheese Plate (Large-Approximately 16" by 5". Color:Jade Green) Handcrafted artisan cheese plate custom made for Artisan Made-Northeast by Brother Iain Highet. Brother Iain lives at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT, where he operates the monastic pottery, creating pieces in stoneware & porcelin that are fired in gas and wood fueled kilns. These plates are dishwasher and microwave safe. They create quite a stir at our tastings, as everyone wants to know where to find them. Here they are!

"The design and glaze of these plates are derived from the work of Furuta Oribe (1544-1615), one of Japan's greatest tea masters and aesthetic influences of his age. Oribe Ware is characterized by a dynamic, free and individually assertive style.
